Sunday after church I thought Dave and I would use our gift card to Moxie's and go have lunch, as we never go out just us. Of course it was closed on Sundays. Emily then offered us her certificate to Kampai Japenese Steak House in Vestal, so we made reservations for 2 at 2! The girls would not go with us, though it would have been fun to all go together. We arrived a little early so Dave drove into Sam's Club and out the Walmart side, not very scenic, but it took up about 10 minutes. We got back at a few minutes of and was still seated at our own table. The chef we had was terrific, he did the "egg roll", the "beating heart made of rice" and the "onion volcano". You do pay for the entertainment. Though the food was good, it really seemed like more "glorified Chinese take out". We did enjoy the time out and appreciate Emily's gesture.....which was super nice. We have all great kids!
May 15th was Lianne's and my typical Bible Study day, our Thursdays. I was promised a special outing through the woods along with a certain pooch named Rover. We took a short jaunt with Rover and poor Rover needs to go out with lots of paraphernalia, let's leave it at that. So as Rover was being exiled for a short time, I waited in the path to the woods, so not to aggravate the poor guy (actually it was for my peace of mind, I was not liked very well). So when Lianne made it back up we meandered through uncharted paths which made it extra fun until we reached a beautiful, mini waterfall, where the moss was rich upon the rocks and soft upon our feet. It was lovely just dipping our feet in the water before heading back to the house for lunch. Oh, what wonderful beauty to behold!
